Week 13 “One More Step”

So the key to not going backwards is to keep moving forward.  Just one more step.  That seems so simple…yet is it?helping take one more step

Starting with my checklist of everything that must be done for the climb.  How many times did you do that today?  Did you remember this? Wait did you write down 3 things that you were grateful for?  Okay so now you caught up….but wait there is more!  So instead of looking at the whole climb, I have decided to take “one more step”.

I am not measuring the steps, instead I am just taking them.   When climbing a mountain at certain points in the climb it is more steep than at others.   So you just take another step.   Then I pause for a breath and to rub my sore muscles and remind myself of why I am climbing. My definite major purpose and my primary pivotal needs.  To leave a legacy of freedom for my children and others.  On this journey I am achieving that freedom for me as well.

“The prizes of life are at the end of each journey, not near the beginning; and it is not given to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goal.  …success hides behind the next bend in the road”.   “I persist until I succeed…I will resist the temptation to depart”.

just one more step I feel like I am behind…yet the energy within is just enough to take one more step.  It is not there to run and catch up as if I have done this climb before.  Instead I just take one more step.  Knowing that THIS climb is for me.  No one needs to approve of where I am.  Because “I AM”!

I have felt setbacks…yet I look to the guides and the others before me who are encouraging me to keep going.  We celebrate each victory, each new awareness, the beauty of our surroundings never seen quite that way before.  I am reminded “Be still and KNOW that I AM GOD” and that it is not with my own power that I am making the climb…but through His Omnipotence.

Grateful for one more step….one more step

  2. Thank you for analogy to climbing a mountain with reminder that we take one more step because we remind ourselves of the end result. I agree we are each on our own journey, in the right timing, God’s timing. So nicely stated.

  3. Dawn,
Thank You for such a empowering message in this post. On the last day of the year. I’m waiting to go to Church and spend the last hours of the year with my wonderful wife Raphaela and friends. Yea, I forgot the 3 cards and I stopped reading to do them. For many years now, the one more step has been the mantra of my being. Yet I see now that I’m truly learning how to be who I really am, one more step has come to mean something totally different. I also loved the message you have on another blog about the “Dash” which has meaning to me also. May Love fill you and yours Abundantly this New Year coming quickly.
